My stepfather took me and my brothers to see Easy Rider when it came out, 1969. I was eight. I came home and asked my mom if I could have a pair of black fishnet stockings like "the girls" in Easy Rider (from that tripping with the hookers in the graveyard scene; almost unwatchable now it's so ridiculously bad). Needless to say, my stepdad was no longer allowed to pick-out movies for us after that, although he must have played the soundtrack around the house, at top volume, for at least a year or longer.

The soundtrack remains haunting and romantic and beautiful to this day though. Well, some of the songs. The ones by the Byrds at least.

I never did get those black fishnet stockings. Least not until I was like 33 or something.

I'm wondering what do you have to dangle at Peter Fonda off-camera to get him through a session like this.
